High Court’s Judgment in Bengali in honour of language martyrs
Honoring language martyrs, the High Court gave its verdict in Bengali on the first day of February.
On Wednesday, High Court Bench of Justice Naima Haider and Justice Md. Khairul Alam announced the judgment in Bengali in the writ petition number 12 on the cause list. At the time of hearing, Deputy Attorney General Amit Dasgupta for the state and Advocate Md. Shariful Islam was present.
Before announcing the verdict, the senior judge of the bench, Naima Haider, said, 'Today is February 1. Language month starts today. Honoring the souls of language martyrs, honoring the International Mother Language Day, today's first verdict is announced in Bengali. I am announcing this verdict in Bengali with respect to all Bengali speakers in the world.
Lawyer Shariful Islam said, 'Our case is a case related to vested property. The court settled the rule and sent it to the appellate tribunal.
In the judgment given in Bengali, the court said, "After reviewing the discussion and arguments of the lawyer, we agree to settle this ruling with the following instructions without entering into the review of the merits of this case."
The instructions are:
(a) The applicant may file an appeal before the Vested Property Appellate Tribunal.
(b) If the applicant wants to file an appeal before the Vested Property Appellate Tribunal, the appeal shall be filed within 90 days of receipt of such order.
(c) Tamadi shall be waived in appeal to the Vested Property Appellate Tribunal.
(d) The order of extradition of property under vested property shall be stayed pending appeal to the Tribunal.
(e) Status of possession will remain in place until the parties
resolve the appeal. The writ case was settled.
