Life sentence for a couple and their son in a murder case

 
The court sentenced a couple and their son to life imprisonment in the case of hacking to death of a man named Abdul Karim in Teknaf, Cox's Bazar. Meanwhile, each of them has been sentenced to another year in prison without paying a fine of Tk 50,000.
Additional District and Sessions Judge (Fifth Court) Nishat Sultana announced the verdict on Tuesday (January 31) afternoon. Cox's Bazar Public Prosecutor (PP) Faridul Alam confirmed this.
 
The convicted accused are - Teknaf Upazila Baharchhara Union North Shilkhali area Md. Maqbool's son. Manzoor alias Kal Manzoor, wife Amina Khatun. His son md. Forkan.

During the announcement of the verdict. Although Manzoor and Amina Khatun were present in the court, the other accused. The lawyer for the state said that Forkan is absconding.

Regarding the documents of the case, Faridul Alam said that nm the evening of August 27, 2019, Abdul Karim was taking care of the chicken house at his residence in North Shilkhali area of Baharchhara Union in Teknaf. At that time, the accused cut him with sharp weapons in a pre-planned manner and left him behind. Later the locals rescued him and took him to Cox's Bazar District Sadar Hospital. When the condition worsened there, the doctor shifted him to Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CHAMEC). The next day (August 28) that year, Abdul Karim died while undergoing treatment at that Hospital.

The lawyer of the state party said that Khursida Begum, the wife of the deceased in the incident on August 29, 2019, became the plaintiff. Forkan, his father, Manzoor alias Kal and mother Amina Khatun filed a case at Teknaf police station. Later, on January 18, 2021, the investigating officer of the case submitted the charge sheet to the court. In this regard, on October 17, 2021, the court ordered the trial against the defendants (charge formation).

Faridul said that after the long judicial process, as the charges against the defendants were proven beyond doubt, the court sentenced each of them to life imprisonment and a fine of Tk 50,000 for one more year.
